Tennis Dress Reviews... |

Hello, I'm Suzy. I've been playing tennis for 20 years now and I love to shop for tennis equipment and clothing. That's why I've created this special page within
the site so you can check out other people's reviews & recommendations of cute tennis dresses.
After I'm finished buying all the cute tennis gear that I can fit in my closet, there's nothing left to do but play tennis. I'm pretty bad so I like to get the best advice I can. I'm too cheap to pay for lessons so I found this site called FYB Premium. They have hours and hours of HD video lessons. It's the only legit video training I've been able to find. |

Shopping for a new tennis dress can be a fun experience. There is nothing easier and more convenient than shopping for a tennis dress online. You can find multiple stores in minutes that will a lot of times have styles that you simply cannot get at your local tennis club or retail store. The only real drawback with online shopping is finding the right size. There is no worse feeling then finding the cutest new dress only to have it arrive at your door and end up looking horrible once you try it on, or discover that it doesn't fit right. Here are some tips to minimize this from happening to you. |
|
|
The first guideline you should follow might seem obvious but don't take it for granted! Just do it. That is use the sizing chart that the online merchant provides. Then make sure you take accurate measurements of yourself. For chest or bust sizes measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulders. For your waist, make sure you are measuring your natural waist line by starting the measurement at your belly button. Don't pull too tight, just make a measurement that will feel good to you. For your hip measurements make sure you stand tall with your feet together. Measure the fullest and widest part of your hips right before the thigh begins to become narrow which is usually 8-9" below your waist. Keep the measuring tape level or parallel to the floor to ensure accuracy. Lastly for the inseam stand up straight again and put the tape measurer high up against your crotch area. Pull the tape down your leg to the top of your foot making sure the tape is against your leg the whole way down. Don't let your self pride ruin your size choice. If you normally are a size 6 and the sizing chart says you are a size 10, order the size 10! It's just like shoes where some companies run bigger or smaller than others. Trust the merchant's sizing chart.
The second guideline to follow is to make sure the style of dress fits your personal body type. If you are a big busted woman with lots of curves, you may want to avoid small noodle-strap types of tennis dresses. Instead try a fuller top or with wider straps. Also ensure that it has a built in bra. Now if you are a skinnier build and you would like to accentuate a thing waist, or you just feel like your movement is restricted but tight skirts, then consider a tennis dress that has a flare to it's skirt. The last thing to consider is the neckline and the sleeves. Since these are areas that most women are picky about, and you are not trying the dress on in person, you may overlook this aspect and order something unflattering.
The third guideline to follow is in regards to your tennis dress pattern. Black can be slimming and white is definitely a tennis classic, but perhaps you should consider something with more flare like a pattern with a design or piping. If you have piping around the waist area, you can accentuate and define this area nicely. Just remember with patterns that vertical lines are slimming, and horizontal lines do the opposite. Bold patterns can be attention drawers so if you have a sensitive area that you don't want to bring attention to then this is not a good choice and a muted or plain pattern would be a better choice.
The last guideline to follow which should not be overlooked is the online stores return policy for a tennis dress. Just make sure that you are even able to return it all, should you purchase something that simply does not work for you. You may have to incur return shipping charges or whatnot so let this area not go overlooked and factor it into your final decision. Following these simple guidelines should let you find a great tennis dress online and save you time and hopefully some money. So get out there and look great on the courts. |

The second great tennis equipment accessory is all about portability. A portable tennis floor stand and net pack is perfect or travel and for places that do not have tennis courts. Fashion in the tennis world has come along way. There was not much variation in what people would wear back in the days of Billy Jean King and so forth. A simple tennis dress was the normal thing to wear and they were usually white in color. In my opinion it is a reflection of the state of the womens movement at that time. It was not just a reflection of how women were treated but also a reflection of men and scocity in general. Everything was more proper and traditional. |
|
Today we live in a less conservatice society and people love to express their individuality. Therefor why should the tennis world be any different. It is no more evident today when you look at Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. They've brought glamour to tennis with their own unique style and design for tennis dresses and clothing. Bright colors, patterns, funny shaped sports bras, are a few of the new styles brought to the court.
If you're tired of the traditional tennis dress, white with a pleated skirt, perhaps you should consider the internet when buying your new tennis dress. If you don't want to wear a tennis dress altogether there are plenty of other options for tennis clothing. Tennis shorts come in all styles of colors and fitting styles. Tennis tops come in all kinds of shapes and colors. Maybe even just a sports bra would be what you need.

You're looking for something unique most of the time, and usually it takes a while to find the exact look you are after. Try at least ten stores before you decide so you put the odds in your favor and you'll give yourself a great chance of finding your dream tennis dress.
Laslty, when looking for the perfect tennis dress, consider your current tennis wordrobe. Do you own only white sneakers? Do you have any bright colored tennis shoes or socks that will match your new outfit? Perhaps you have some nice red shoes that you could use as a base for finding your new dress. If you find a great tennis dress with a wonderfully bright pattern or color, this can give you the excuse you are looking for to buy another pair of tennis shoes. Just think creatively and consider everything before you make your decision. Tennis Equipment History. The Evolution Of the Tennis Racquet
Just like everything else is in life, tennis equipment has changed very significantly in the last 30 years. Tennis balls are different with better aero dynamic properties and the clothing looks nothing the it did way back in the day. Then there is the most significant change in tennis equipment, the tennis racquet. |
|
|
The first racquet in 1874 was promoted by Major Wingfield in London. Since it's creation in 1874 it remained unchanged for the next 100 years. Metal racquets were in existence before the nineteen sixties, they just were not very common at all. Metal racquets made their first surge in popularity in the 1960s when professional tennis player Jimmy Connors decided to use them on the pro circuit.
From that day on the equipment made a massive surge in technological production and innovation. The first thing to change was the size of the tennis racquet head itself. The head of the mid 1970s was twice the size of the traditional wooden racquets. This innovation made the players power shots that much stronger. It also made it much easier for amateurs to play and enjoy the game with his better easier to hit tennis equipment.
The next thing to hit the market were the graphite racquets which gave the strength of the metal racquets but retaining the lightweight frame for maximum swing speeds. Today the racquets have become even lighter with the introduction of metals such as kevlar, ceramics, and titanium. The lightweight frames make for shorter back swings and a faster flick shot. This added to the huge head size increases the sweet spot of the racquet to allow more room for error.
The new tennis equipment also brings about anew style of tennis, which is faster and more of a power game. Many people have wanted to revert the game back to the wooden racquet format because they believe the increase in repitative strain injuries and tennis elbow is a direct cause of the new tennis racquet equipment.
There are still supporters of wooden tennis racquet leagues. One such supporter is none other then John McEnroe. Supporters believe the return of wooden racquets would bring a higher level technique to the game.
The choice of what tennis equipment you play is up to you. There is no shame in kicking it old school and playing a wood racquet. It can be a fine choice for those who have true love for the game. |
